Not to be forgotten downtown is the Greater Albuquerque Chamber of Commerce on Gold Street across from the lofts and around the corner from the cinema and the train station. Check it out for business support, education, and community involvement.
Parking is easy. A multi-story parking garage is also across the street and updated parking meters are all along the sidewalks in front of the Chamber and adjacent cafes and coffee shops.

This area is fantastic with the lofts, close proximity to the University and great shops and restaurants. There is definately revitalization going on in this area.
A great organization that is working on bringing in more shops, markets and retail is the Downtown Action Team. Their website is www.downtownabq.com.
This is also a great resource for events and programs going on in this area.

Love the idea of downtown living! I'm crossing my fingers that we can get more retail food stores and markets to draw people into the downtown area. Loft living is a perfect 'second' home or executive space - the only thing missing is the grocery/market so that you really don't have to drive anywhere. I'd like to be able to park my car and cover it, and put on my walking shoes.
I would love to see a market like Trader Joe's come to the downtown area. Knowing it is approved for the Uptown area, maybe it's next.
