Forbes rates 3 New Mexico cities ‘best small places for business’

Three New Mexico cities have landed on a new Forbes magazine ranking of the nation's "best small places for business and careers." Las Cruces is the highest ranking New Mexico city, coming in at No. 14 on the Forbes list out of 184 smaller cities and towns. Santa Fe ranks No. 47. The only other New Mexico city to make the ranking is Farmington, which came in at No. 159. The list is a companion to Forbes' ranking of the nation's large cities and towns, issued in June. The ranking is based on the costs of doing business -- including labor costs, energy, taxes, and office space -- as well as projected growth, the population's educational level, and income and job growth rates...
