Property managers face numerous challenges in the day to day operations of the properties they manage. One of the best risk reduction tools available to the property manager involves taking courses designed to maximize knowledge in key areas of liability. The course will explore several laws that are relevant to property management, such as the Fair Housing Act. Property managers must stay informed of current changes to existing laws to ensure they are in compliance.

The course learning objectives are: 

  • The broker will list changes made to the NMREC Rules governing property management
  • The broker will identify key provisions of the Real Estate Disclosure Act
  • The broker will examine what property managers can do regarding illegal drug activity
  • The broker will describe the basic provisions of the Lead Renovation Rule
  • The broker will explain key provisions the UORRA
  • The broker will interpret HUD’s assistance animal rule
