COURSE DESCRIPTION:

Attendees will receive general knowledge of alternative dispute resolution methods along with differences and how to employ the method most appropriate. The course will show video clips of role-play mediation conferences and allow for attendees to have the experience of putting in to use techniques dispute resolution through class role-play opportunities. Full presentation with PowerPoint and selected video clips.

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN:

• Attendees will be able to distinguish between Ombudsman, Mediation, Arbitration and Litigation in terms of features and benefits and down-sides
• Attendees will understand the distinction between "positions" and "interests"
• Attendees will identify characteristics essential for resolution using mediation
• Attendees will demonstrate ability to function as a mediator through class role-play exercises
