Sure, trees consume water. They also help cool the city and reduce evaporation – both of which conserves more water then they consume.

That is why the Albuquerque Water Utility Authority is offering "Tree-Bates" – a 25% rebate for tree-irrigation equipment, fertilization or professional tree care services.  Homeowners can receive a rebate up to $100. Businesses can qualify for up to $500. 

While the program does not coverr the planting or removal of trees, other landscaping rebates are also available.
