Volunteering for Run for the Zoo –a GAAR tradition for 31 years

Since 1986, GAAR has been a proud sponsor and volunteer at the annual "Run for the Zoo...and walk with us too!", a fundraiser organized by the New Mexico BioPark Society.

GAAR volunteers have supported the New Mexico BioPark fundraising fun-run for over 30 years, keeping particpants safe as it grew from 800 participants to over 12,000. We need help from you to help keep this cherished tradition alive – and growing –by volunteering!

In addition to cheering on the race participants, a variety of services are needed, such as handing out flyers, providing directions at intersections, keeping the runners safe, etc.

Submit your volunteer form by Wednesday, April 12, 2017. Children, family, friends, and colleagues - everyone is welcome to volunteer! If you have questions about the event, please contact either of the committee co-chairs:

  • Mike Roberts, 505-463-7912
  • Helen Jackson, 505-681-9038

Volunteers should be prepared to report to their designated areas on May 7th by 6:00 am and stay until 11:30 am. Starting time may vary by team (check with your team captain for verification).
