GAAR and SWMLS Committees are accepting applications for 2027.

Serving on a committee gives you the opportunity to connect with fellow REALTORS®, contribute to important decisions, and help shape the future of real estate in Greater Albuquerque. Whether you’re passionate about advocacy, education, technology, or community outreach, there’s a place for your voice and leadership.

We have two committee membership types:

  • ANNUAL ENROLLMENT - Join before the new calendar year, due to training requirements or possible term limits. This is the time to join for annual enrollment!
    • Government Affairs - Monitors local government activities that impact private property rights and the real estate industry 
    • Grievance - Determine if complaints are potential violations of the Code of Ethics
      (must be a REALTOR® in good standing for a minimum 5 years)
    • Professional Standards -Serve on ethics & arbitration hearing panels
      (must be a REALTOR® in good standing for a minimum 5 years)
    • The REALTOR® FUND of the Greater Albuquerque Association of REALTORS®
    • SWMLS Compliance - Review alleged violations of the SWMLS Rules & Regulations
      (must have a minimum 3 years in the real estate business)
    • SWMLS Emerging Trends & Technology
      (must have a minimum 2 years in the real estate business)
    • SWMLS Policy - Maintain & update the SWMLS Rules & Regulations
  • OPEN ENROLLMENT - Join anytime
    • ABCD (Advancing, Belonging, Community & Diversity)
    • Affiliate
    • GAP (GAAR Ambassador Program)
    • LEAP (Leadership, Education & Achievement Programs)

Volunteering isn’t just about giving back — it’s also about growing forward. Committee service builds leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills while expanding your professional network and visibility. Many of today’s GAAR and SWMLS leaders began their journey by serving on a committee.
