Early Voting Begins October 6th

Early Voting Begins October 6 in New Mexico

New Mexico voters do not have to wait until Election Day to cast their ballots. Early voting for the 2026 General Election begins Tuesday, October 6, giving voters several weeks to make their voices heard before Election Day on November 3.

Beginning October 6, voters can cast an early ballot at their County Clerk's Office. Additional early voting locations open across many counties beginning Saturday, October 17, providing more options closer to where voters live and work. Early voting continues through Saturday, October 31.

Dates, hours, and available locations vary by county, so voters should confirm their location before heading out.

Find an Early Voting Location

The easiest way to find voting locations specific to you is through NMVote.org, the New Mexico Secretary of State's voter information portal.

Same-Day Registration is available at County Clerk offices and participating early voting locations. It is also available at polling locations on Election Day.

Requirements and availability can vary by location, so voters planning to use Same-Day Registration should check with their County Clerk before voting.

Make Your Voting Plan

Early voting provides more flexibility to participate in the election without having to fit voting into a single day. With locations and hours varying throughout the early voting period, a little planning can make the process easier.
