REALTORS® are a vital part of every home’s story, where home represents joy, hope, comfort and security.
This month, we will emphasize the importance of each home’s story – not just to ourselves as REALTORS® – but to homeowners and the larger Greater Albuquerque community.
The financial and tax benefits of owning a home are only a part of it. Homeownership also helps create jobs, ensure family stability, build robust neighborhoods, improve health benefits for owners and increase education opportunities for children.
Throughout Home Story Month, we will work together to tell the Home Story, and the REALTORS® role in it, as we brush up on our skills, sharpen our tools and get in the spirit to help create more home stories.
REALTOR® Week
March 28th – April 1st
Through public outreach, advertising and special events, GAAR and its members will engage the public on the REALTOR®’s role in the home story and the community.
GAAR Good Neighbors on 2 Kasa Style Morning Show (Friday, April 1) – Join GAAR President Jon Schnoor and the hosts of 2 Kasa Style morning show as they introduce GAAR Good Neighbor Award Winner Kris Cannaday and New Mexico Kids Matter as they raise awareness for the charity. The Journey Home (Friday, April 1) – Check out GAAR’s state-wide customer site – NewMexicoHomeSearch.com. As a free added-benefit to our members, GAAR has developed a robust, interactive statewide home search site in partnership with New Mexico True. Not only will consumers find property listings, open houses and REALTORS®, they will also learn more about the benefits of using a REALTOR®, how REALTORS® work to improve the community and more.
Habitat for Humanity / ReStore “Stuff the Truck” (Saturday, April 2) – Help us raise funds for the next Greater Albuquerque Habitat for Humanity Home Build by getting the word out to friends, family, neighbors and clients that they can drop of their gently used household items (which is everything INCLUDING the kitchen sink). REALTOR® Open House Week
(April 11th - April 17th)
Get ready for Open House Weekend!!!
REALTOR® Building Open House (April 11-15) – Throughout the week, pick up your GAAR Grande Open House Signs, marketing material from GAAR and GAAR Affiliates and balloons. To participate in the open house, make sure your MLS Open House listing sare up to date by Tuesday. No other action is required. Inflated balloons can be picked up on Friday and Saturday.
GAAR Grande Open House Weekend (Saturday and Sunday, April 16th and 17th) – In 2015, GAAR members held over 500 open houses. Let’s see if we can top it this year. Marketing efforts are substantially increased by adding printed open house listings in the Albuquerque Journal, a Live Remote with the PEAK from the GAAR parking lot and Affiliate Expo in the GAAR REALTOR® Building on Saturday. The Open house will also be marketed through NewMexicoHomeSearch.com.
