BernCo Launches “Know Your Tax Bill” and Offers November Payment Assistance

As 2026 property tax bills arrive in mailboxes, the Bernalillo County Treasurer's Office is introducing new resources to help property owners better understand their taxes and offering in-person assistance with online payments throughout November.

New "Know Your Tax Bill" Resource

Bernalillo County Treasurer Tim Eichenberg has introduced Know Your Tax Bill, an educational initiative designed to help property owners understand how their property taxes are calculated and what the different sections of their tax bill represent.

Building on the County Assessor's "Know Your Value" campaign, the new resource focuses on the tax bill itself rather than property valuation.

The online tools include:

  • Educational Video: An overview of the components of a property tax bill.
  • Interactive Sample Tax Bill: A PDF that allows users to click or hover over numbered sections for additional explanations about their taxes.

These resources can also help REALTORS® answer general questions from clients about property taxes and direct homeowners to reliable County information.
