The Greater Albuquerque Association of REALTORS® (GAAR) announces that Chief Executive Officer Ryan Swinney will be stepping down from his role effective August 14, 2026, after accepting the position of Chief Executive Officer with Boise Regional REALTORS® in Boise, Idaho.

Since joining GAAR in 2025, Ryan has worked alongside volunteer leaders, members, and staff to advance the association's mission of supporting REALTORS®, protecting private property rights, and delivering value to the real estate professionals who serve communities throughout the greater Albuquerque area.

"This was a very difficult decision," Ryan said. "My wife, Kisti, and I have truly loved our time in Albuquerque. The people, the REALTOR® community, and the opportunity to serve GAAR have been incredibly meaningful to us. We would not have considered leaving if it were not for the unique opportunity to return to Boise, a community where we previously lived and worked and a state where Kisti continues to maintain professional ties."

Over the coming weeks, Ryan will continue to lead the organization while working closely with the Board of Directors, Executive Committee, and staff to ensure a smooth transition. The Board will begin the process of identifying the association's next CEO and will provide updates to the membership as that process moves forward.

GAAR remains well-positioned for continued success, supported by strong volunteer leadership, a dedicated professional staff, and an engaged membership committed to advancing the real estate industry throughout the Albuquerque region.

Reflecting on his time at GAAR, Ryan expressed his gratitude for the relationships he has built throughout the organization and the REALTOR® family.

"It has been an honor to serve GAAR and its members," he said. "I am grateful for the trust, support, and partnership I have received from our volunteer leaders, staff, and members. I am proud of what we have accomplished together, and I am confident that the future of this association is bright."
