Silver Horizons is a local non-profit committed to helping struggling senior citizens and any grandchildren they may be raising who reside in communities from Sante Fe to Albuquerque to Belen. Silver Horizons provides critical assistance for basics such as groceries, household bills, and home repairs or retrofits. Each month, Silver Horizons serves 4,000 seniors with the goal of keeping them safe, secure, and in their homes.

REALTORS® Give
The REALTOR® Fund of GAAR is a permanently sustainable fund that provides support to local charities serving Bernalillo, Valencia, Sandoval, and Torrance Counties. Grants from the fund have been modified and each year one non-profit is awarded $45,000. In addition, the REALTOR® Fund awards up to $5,000 in grants to Good Neighbor charities. GAAR Event Sponsorships and individual member donations sustain the fund.2022 Grant Recipient
In 2022, a record number of non-profits applied: 53! The REALTOR® Fund Committee spent countless hours vetting and reviewing the applicants and recommended their top three choices to the GAAR Board of Directors for final determination.
In November 2022, the Board selected Silver Horizons as the 2022 REALTOR® Fund recipient, and the charity was honored at the Annual Meeting held in December. The 2023 grant cycle will open in this spring and local non-profits will have several months to apply.

In just the last 14 years, REALTORS® have volunteered thousands of hours and through the REALTOR® Fund have donated more than $500,000 to over 45 local non-profits through grants and contributions to Good Neighbor charities.
