What’s New for 2027

• A brand-new Expertise Profile is now required for all applicants. Previous profiles will not carry over, and members will be expected to review and update their profile annually moving forward.
• Applications are more specialized, with tailored, open-ended questions designed to highlight your knowledge and experience in specific subject areas.
• Endorsements now focus on experience, not relationships, giving reviewers a clearer picture of your qualifications and contributions.
• Separate applications for leadership roles, such as vice chair positions, place greater emphasis on leadership experience and committee-specific expertise.

Together, these changes create a more thoughtful and merit-based process that helps ensure every committee is built with purpose.

What to Expect When You Apply

The application experience is more structured, but also more meaningful. Here is how it works:

1. Complete Your Expertise Profile
   This is your foundation. Think of it as your professional snapshot. You will outline your background, specialties, and leadership experience, giving NAR leadership a clear understanding of where you bring value.
2. Submit Your Application
   You can apply to up to five committees, each with its own set of tailored questions. This allows you to align your interests and expertise with multiple opportunities while showcasing depth in each area.
3. Secure Endorsements
   Applicants may include three endorsements from peers or association staff. These endorsements now carry more weight when they reflect your actual experience and qualifications rather than just familiarity.
