New business deal will change Downtown Albuquerque’s skyline

By Sal Christ, Reporter for Albuquerque Business First:

U.S. Eagle Federal Credit Union has landed a five-year lease to take over both signage rights and real estate space at Albuquerque Plaza.

According to Phil Forbert, marketing manager for the credit union, the deal will move U.S. Eagle's branch at 616 Gold Ave. SW in March or April of 2016. The signage on the building is expected to be placed as early as January. Additionally, Albuquerque Plaza itself will be rebranded as U.S. Eagle Plaza.

"U.S. Eagle looks at this arrangement as a long-term commitment to our members who work or live in the Downtown area. We will stay in that location as long as it continues to provide value to our members," Forbert said.

Both Marsha Majors, U.S. Eagle president and CEO, and Ken Herrera, the credit union's board chair, said the signage rights and new branch location offer greater exposure for the credit union and "drive home its dedication to the city of Albuquerque." Click here to read the full article.
