NM Public Accountancy Board seeks REALTOR® for Board Position
Public service volunteers are needed to fill New Mexico Professional Licensing Board Positions.

Is public service your passion? Have you wanted to get involved, but did not know how? This is a wonderful opportunity for citizens throughout New Mexico to learn about the various functions of state government as well as give back to the community. The New Mexico Professional Licensing Boards need your experience, talent and time!

NM Public Accountancy Board

The NM Public Accountancy Board, which is housed in the Albuquerque RLD office, is seeking a REALTOR® to fill a soon-to-be vacant Public Member position on the Board. This individual can never have been a CPA. Unlike other Boards there is no restriction on what county they are from.

Time Commitment

At full capacity, the NM Public Accountancy Board has seven members. They meet every other month for 1-3 hours. For the August meeting, they have switched to a hybrid format, but Board members and the public may attend in person at the Albuquerque RLD office located at 5500 San Antonio Dr NE. There are also two swearing-in ceremonies a year for new CPA’s which Board members are expected to attend. These ceremonies are about two hours in duration. The Board Administrator, Noel Davis, estimates the time commitment at 20-30 hours a year.

Requirements

The Board would like someone who is interested in the public accountancy profession, is willing and able to attend regularly and be an active participant.  No accountancy experience is required. A public member cannot have a direct or indirect financial interest in the profession to which they are applying, nor can they hold a license in the profession to which they are applying.

Contact

Interested REALTORS® should contact Noel Davis at 505-222-9851 or Noel.Davis1@state.nm.us. Members are appointed by the Governor so interested persons will be vetted by the Governor’s office.
