Take Your Leadership Statewide: Serve on the NMAR Board

Ready to take your leadership beyond the local level? GAAR is currently accepting applications from members interested in serving on the 2027 New Mexico Association of REALTORS® (NMAR) Board of Directors, with four positions available to represent GAAR.

Serving as an NMAR Director is an opportunity to gain a broader perspective on the real estate industry across New Mexico while bringing the voice and experiences of GAAR members to statewide conversations. Directors work alongside representatives from local REALTOR® associations throughout New Mexico, helping connect local priorities with the issues, policies and opportunities shaping the profession statewide.

What Does an NMAR Director Do?

NMAR Directors serve a two-year term and may serve up to two consecutive terms. In addition to representing GAAR and its members, Directors gain firsthand insight into NMAR governance, advocacy and initiatives affecting REALTORS® and the communities they serve.

The primary commitment includes attending two annual NMAR Board of Directors meetings, along with pre-caucus and caucus meetings led by the Central District Vice President:

  • Legislative Meeting | February
Stay informed about policy developments and legislative initiatives that could impact the real estate industry, property ownership and your clients.
  • Annual Meeting | August–September
Connect with REALTOR® leaders from across New Mexico while participating in statewide Association business. The Annual Meeting rotates among locations throughout the state, providing an opportunity to experience and better understand the communities NMAR represents.
Bring GAAR's Voice to the State Level

Whether you are looking to expand your leadership experience, learn more about the industry beyond the Albuquerque market or help represent your fellow members, serving on the NMAR Board offers a valuable next step.

Four positions are open to GAAR members for 2027.

To be considered, submit your completed application by Monday, October 19, 2026.
