Pavilion Construction expands space, workforce

By Steve Sinovic / Journal Staff Writer:

Pavilion Construction, a Portland, Ore.-based general contractor with deep Albuquerque roots, is doubling its office space and looking to hire more estimators and managers to keep pace with the volume of work, which is statewide in scope.

“We have a fair amount of projects coming up,” said Ira Griffin, Pavilion’s operations manager for the Southwest region, adding that the company’s subcontractors are wrapping up $40 million worth of construction in the state. “On top of that, we’re bidding on projects that have a value of $80 million.”

Hence the need for a move from its current office at 7820 Pan American Highway to a newly leased 2,150-square-foot space near the Big-I at 2511 Broadbent Parkway.

“We are coming and going in all directions,” said Griffin, referring to job sites in Albuquerque, Hobbs,  Las Cruces, Gallup and Santa Fe.

With 20 people on the payroll, Griffin said he’s looking to bring four to six additional staff members on board in the next few months.

Since it was founded in 2007, Pavilion has completed over 30 multihousing projects in 14 New Mexico cities. About 90 to 95 percent of the subcontractors and material suppliers are local, Griffin said. Click here to read the full article.
