If the goal was momentum, 2025 delivered it in running shoes.
The 2025 Run for the Zoo brought 9,237 participants through the gates, up from 7,827 in 2024, proving that Albuquerque loves a good cause. Even better, the 10K, 5K Fitness Run, and 1 Mile Fun Run all sold out, turning the morning into a full-on celebration of community, movement, and wildlife conservation.
Thanks to strong participation and generous support, the event exceeded its financial goals, raising approximately $275,000 to support the Albuquerque BioPark.
Where the Funds Go
Event fundraising over the past year has helped provide critical resources and enhancements across the BioPark, including:
- Advanced veterinary equipment, such as a new endoscope and a CT scan, supports high-quality animal care
- Lebanon & Beyond, a stunning new garden made possible by a $2.5 million private gift, with an additional $2 million in event funds supporting construction
- And yes, so much more, because behind-the-scenes investments are where the magic really happens
These dollars do not just support facilities. They directly enhance animal health, visitor experiences, and long-term conservation efforts.
