See what happened when one side of an ABQ Rapid Transit debate couldn’t make the event

More than 50 people showed up to a debate that was supposed to occur between a supporter and opponent of the Albuquerque Rapid Transit (ART) line last night at University of New Mexico's School of Law. The debate didn't occur, however, as one participant couldn't make it to the event.

Paul Silverman of the Geltmore Group, who was the supporter of ART, said he couldn't make it to the debate as a business trip came up last minute.

Still, Paul Gessing of the Rio Grande Foundation, an opponent of ART, walked the crowd through the proposed line, answering many questions and debating a few audience members.

Gessing argued that between 2010 and 2013, almost 75 percent of Albuquerque residents commuted by themselves and would be unlikely to use mass transit to get around. Click here to read the full article.
