GAAR is honored to recognize REALTOR® Rosemary Freelin as a three-time Good Neighbor Award recipient for her unwavering 13+ years of service with the Rio Grande Valley Chapter of Blue Star Mothers.

Blue Star Mothers is a non-partisan organization open to mothers of active-duty service members, as well as supportive dads, family members, and friends. United in pride, patriotism, and purpose, they provide critical care and community to troops, veterans, and Gold Star families.

Since 2011, Rosemary has served on various committees and the Executive Board, lending her heart and her fundraising expertise to the mission. With her skills, the chapter assembles and ships over 1,200 troop care packages each year to service members stationed across the U.S. and overseas.

In addition to her year-round efforts, Rosemary participates in:
  • Airport homecomings to greet returning troops with flags and gift bags
  • VA Hospital visits to distribute comfort items to veterans
  • Wreath-laying ceremonies at Santa Fe National Cemetery each December
