Nobody wants to get hit with a fine for something they never even saw.
The good news? A few quick steps can help make sure SWMLS Compliance notices land right in your inbox — with plenty of time to fix the issue before it costs you anything.
Here's how to stay in the loop.
Add These Addresses to Your Contacts
Sometimes email providers flag messages from unfamiliar senders as spam, even when they're important. Save these addresses to your contacts so Compliance emails don't get lost:
- listingdatachecker@cotality.com
- compliance@swmls.com
- support@swmls.com
It only takes a minute, and it's one of the easiest ways to avoid missing a notice.
Sign Up for Text Alerts
Want to know the moment a Compliance notice goes out? Just email compliance@swmls.com with "Opt In" in the subject line and include your cell number. We'll text you so you're never caught off guard.
Please note: this text alert is a one-way notification only — SWMLS can't send or receive other texts, so any follow-up should go through a phone call or email.
Check Your Voicemail — and Make Sure It's Not Full
If SWMLS Compliance staff can't reach you by email, a phone call may be next. Make sure your voicemail box isn't full so we can leave a message, and check it regularly so you don't miss a callback.
Peek at Your Spam Folder Now and Then
Even with your contacts updated, things can occasionally slip into spam or junk — especially if you've recently switched email providers or gotten a new phone. A quick glance every so often can save you from missing something important.
Keep Your Info Up to Date
Compliance notices go out automatically to the email on file for the listing broker and the office's Designated Broker. If your email or phone number changes, let SWMLS know right away so you don't miss a beat.
Don't Wait to Respond
Once you get a Compliance Warning, you'll have a grace period — usually 48 hours — to fix the issue before a fine kicks in. This is your best (and cheapest!) chance to resolve things, so reach out and let us know you're on it.
