In 2024, the Greater Albuquerque Association of REALTORS® honored Tracy Denton of Realty One of New Mexico as a Good Neighbor Award recipient, recognizing her outstanding leadership and generosity through the Austin Denton Foundation. Her commitment to honoring her son’s memory by empowering others reflects what it truly means to be a neighbor to the community.
The Heart Behind the Foundation
The Austin Denton Foundation was established in 2021 in Albuquerque, NM, with a mission to raise funds & awareness for organizations that serve, support, and create opportunities for individuals. Tracy Denton Inspired by Austin’s life—where he chased his passion for sports journalism, broadcasted high school games, and refused to be defined by illness—the foundation strives to turn adversity into opportunity.
Austin’s story still resonates deeply: despite health struggles, he followed his love of sports broadcasting, even introducing an NFL draft pick and interviewing Peyton Manning. His voice lives on through initiatives that aim to extend his dream to other young people.
Today, Tracy Denton serves as President of the Austin Denton Foundation, working alongside a volunteer leadership team that includes Brian Denton (Vice President), Tammy Diaz (Secretary), and Gilbert Diaz (Treasurer). None of them take a salary—they volunteer their time because they believe deeply in the mission.
