Vote online Monday, October 19th - Sunday, October 25th.

The SWMLS  Nominating Committee has officially selected the candidates for the 2027 SWMLS Board of Directors Election.

The SWMLS Board election includes two director positions and openings for President-elect and Treasurer.

Voting

For SWMLS, only Participants in good standing with SWMLS may vote in this election, and their votes are weighted based upon the number of Associate Brokers/Subscribers they represent.

Definitions
  • Participant: Holds a current, valid New Mexico real estate Qualifying Broker's license and is the Designated Broker ultimately responsible for all activity under their firm. Full definition available in the SWMLS Bylaws
  • Subscriber:  Non-Principal Broker and licensee and/or appraiser affiliated with Participant (QB or DR)  who, under the SWMLS   Rules, has qualified and joined as a Subscriber
Your Vote Is Still Needed

Although the number of candidates matches the number of open positions for the 2027 SWMLS Board of Directors, Participant votes are still required. Candidates must receive member approval before they can officially serve on the Board.

Please take one minute to cast your vote and help finalize the 2027 SWMLS Board.

Option to Submit an Additional Nominee

Under Article 6.3.3 of the SWMLS Bylaws, Participants may add an additional nominee to the 2027 SWMLS Board election through a petition process.

  • A petition must include 120 Participant wet signatures, physically signed by hand, and be submitted by October 2, 2026, to Jane Fertig, Executive Administrator.
  • For purposes of the petition, wet signatures must come from the Designated Broker (DB) of a participating office. A Qualifying Broker (QB) who is not the office’s Designated Broker does not qualify as a Participant signature.
  • Any proposed nominee must also meet the qualifications outlined in Article 6.2 of the SWMLS Bylaws.
  • If interested, please contact Jane Fertig at jane@gaar.com for more information on the petition.

Once a petition is received and certified, the proposed nominee will be presented to Participants as an additional candidate for the office specified in the petition.
