Celebrate Women’s History Month

March is Women’s History Month, and Albuquerque offers meaningful ways to celebrate the women who have shaped our state’s culture, business community, and neighborhoods.

From panel discussions and museum exhibits to networking events and community gatherings, local organizations are creating space to honor trailblazers while spotlighting the leaders making an impact today. These events are more than celebrations. They are opportunities to connect, learn, and recognize the influence women have across industries that power New Mexico’s economy.

Real estate is one of those industries. Historically, women have represented the majority of professionals in residential real estate, leading transactions, guiding clients through life’s biggest financial decisions, and serving as trusted advisors in their communities.

  • 65 percent of all REALTORS® are women, but women are less represented in leadership.
  • In commercial real estate, women make up only 36.7 percent of the workforce.
  • Female membership in NAR has grown from none in the first two years to a majority, with seven women elected as NAR Presidents.

In New Mexico, women continue to own brokerages, mentor rising professionals, and advocate for housing access and property rights.

As we attend Women’s History Month events throughout Albuquerque, it is worth recognizing that the homes, neighborhoods, and communities we value so deeply have been shaped in large part by women working diligently every day in real estate.
