The Opportunity Zone Program was created to revitalize low-income communities with economic activity and job creation. It encourages investment by deferring, reducing or permanently excluding capital gains on the appreciation if specific criteria are met. New Mexico has 63 designated Opportunity Zones with Bernalillo County accounting for 18. Guest speaker Joe Farr explains the benefits and risks associated with this program.
