There are over 2,000 nonprofit organizations in New Mexico and businesses are continually giving back to the community, as highlighted regularly in Albuquerque Business First's "Giving Back" section. You could say Albuquerque is one of the most caring cities in the country — a status that's backed up in a recent national study.

Albuquerque ranked 33rd out of 100 of the most populated cities in the U.S. in the recent study titled "2015’s Most Caring Cities in America," with a total score of 53.50 out of 100.

Coming in at number one was Boise, Idaho, with a score of 66.49.

In the new WalletHub study, analysts looked at various metrics across three categories: caring for the community, caring for the vulnerable and homeless and caring in the workforce. In the third category, the study looked at the number of people employed in the public-service sector, per 100,000 residents.

Albuquerque has 612.81 people employed in community and social services per 100,000 residents. The city also has 115.67 physicians and 996.51 nurses per 100,000 residents. Click here to read the full article.
