SAFETY ALERT TO GAAR MEMBERS!!!

It has come to our attention that there is a member of the public who is harassing REALTORS® in several local Real Estate offices.
This person may say they were referred by another broker and presents themselves as a cash buyer for homes in the $2 million range due to an inheritance from a local business BUT cannot provide proof of funds. When the local business was contacted, the broker was told this person had no inheritance and to exercise extreme caution due to this individual's criminal background.
We are reminding ALL members to remain alert with unknown individuals and to document identification, research the person, and prequalify buyers BEFORE showing properties.
Please notify the police, your brokerage and the GAAR office immediately if you are confronted with any suspicious or unusual activity.
