ShowingTime and Your Data

There has been a lot of questions and concerns recently regarding ShowingTime and it's access to your data. To clear up some of the confusion, here are answers to the most frequent questions.

ShowingTime FAQs

Q: What kind of data does ShowingTime receive from SWMLS?
A:
ShowingTime receives a very basic set of fields in their data feed, far less than anything that is received in a standard IDX field. To put this in perspective, an IDX Data feed contains over 160 fields, ShowingTime only receives 50.

Q: Does ShowingTime get my seller's information?
A:
No. Owner Name and Owner Number are not sent to ShowingTime.

Q: How do we know that ShowingTime won't share our data?
A:
Our current contract with ShowingTime clearly states that ShowingTime is only allowed to utilize our MLS data for purposes that are directly related to the service that they provide. The only exception to this is Aggregated Data, which is summarized content that "contains no reference to: specific properties, individually identifiable information, or individual members, brokerages, subscribers, or participants."

Q: What is SWMLS doing about this?
A: SWMLS is monitoring the acquisition of ShowingTime by Zillow and will update membership as we learn more and review the options.
