SWMLS Changes Effective September 1st
Beginning Wednesday, September 1st, be aware of the following SWMLS changes:

1. The SWMLS Board of Directors recently made a change to the definition of the Active status in SWMLS - stating that any listing in Active status MUST be available for showings.

This change was made to clear up confusion around how to handle a listing that is not available for showings. The original purpose of the 7 days allowance was to allow a listing to remain in Active status while repairs were being made to the home. However, it has lately been used in place of Coming Soon, using the benefits of the Active status while not allowing showings. With this change, that is no longer allowable, and a listing that is in Active status MUST be available for showings. READ MORE.

2. Beginning September 1st, the fine structure for Clear Cooperation violations is changing. Under the new structure, the first violation will be $500, second violation is $1,000, and the third violation is $5,000 and loss of MLS privileges for 30 days. This is a rolling count per member and does not reset. READ MORE.

3. In an effort to better brand Southwest MLS, all SWMLS email addresses will be changing to the swmls.com domain name as of September 1st. Old email addresses will continue to work for the near future but update your address book now to avoid disruptions. READ MORE.
