Ahdohny and Mandisa are more than just passionate advocates — they are builders of a movement. Through Juneteenth Renaissance Institute (JRI), they’re leading an effort to uplift Albuquerque’s Black community by promoting generational wealth, holistic well-being, and local engagement. What began as a generation of advocacy for the celebration of Juneteenth has evolved into a powerful platform for education, empowerment, and unity.
Their impact can be felt through JRI’s programs, such as
But their work doesn’t there. Ahdohny and Mandisa are also deeply engaged in connecting communities to resources, policy advocacy, and building economic pathways — tackling systemic disparities head-on and inspiring others to do the same.
Their main goals are to support Black families in controlling their economic destinies and increasing representation of African-Americans in real estate (in our state around 3% of the population identifies as Black, while making up only .03% of GAAR members). Their work also extends to supporting a more robust economy and safer communities for all New Mexicans.
Their roles within JRI aren’t just about leadership titles; they’re about service. Whether they’re mentoring youth, facilitating wellness initiatives, or fostering workforce development, Ahdohny and Mandisa consistently show up with vision and compassion. Their work embodies the very essence of what it means to be a Good Neighbor.
GAAR’s Good Neighbor Awards celebrate those who give selflessly to build stronger, more inclusive communities — and Ahdohny and Mandisa do exactly that. They are helping to write a new chapter of Albuquerque’s history: one rooted in opportunity, community, and collective pride.
Please join us in recognizing Ahdohny Routheni and Mandisa Routheni for being true Good Neighbors — and for showing us all what it looks like to turn purpose into progress.
