SWMLS President Update - September

September SWMLS President Update: Expanded RealReports Benefits and SourceRE Launch

Southwest MLS President Teri Hatcher shares highlights from the September Board of Directors meeting, including expanded subscriber benefits through RealReports and the upcoming transition to SourceRE, bringing new opportunities for MLS data access and technology integration.

RealReports Expanding Subscriber Benefits

SWMLS is upgrading to the full RealReports package, giving subscribers access to a broader collection of tools designed to support their business.

Beyond the property reports already available, the expanded package will introduce:

  • Prospecting Tools: Identify potential opportunities and connect with prospective clients.
  • Client Engagement: Stay connected with past clients and strengthen relationships.
  • Comparative Market Analyses (CMAs): Create market analyses using expanded property data.
  • Enhanced Taxshot Reports: Access more detailed property and ownership information.

SWMLS is currently working through the integration of these additional features. RealReports is already offering frequent webinars and product training to help subscribers become familiar with the platform ahead of the full rollout.

SourceRE Goes Live October 12

Another significant technology advancement is the transition to SourceRE as SWMLS's new data distribution provider on October 12, 2026.

This behind-the-scenes platform will give SWMLS greater oversight of how listing data is distributed and used while creating new opportunities for brokers and approved vendors to work with MLS data.

Connecting MLS Data with Artificial Intelligence

One of SourceRE's most promising capabilities is access to a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server, which can enable compatible AI assistants, such as ChatGPT and Claude, to work directly with authorized MLS data.

Rather than navigating a separate statistical program, users could potentially ask questions in everyday language, such as:

  • "Create a comparative market analysis for this property."
  • "What are the current market trends in this ZIP code?"
  • "How have home prices changed in this neighborhood?"

With the appropriate integration and access permissions, AI tools could analyze available MLS data and return useful insights, making complex market information easier to explore.

This capability represents an exciting opportunity for the future of MLS technology as SWMLS continues working to improve data accessibility while maintaining responsible oversight.
